Hello World! 🌍
As Gaia Marketing Lab begins its journey into blogging and grows as a business, I wanted to introduce myself and share my story and that of Gaia—why I started it, and the intentions driving it.
I’m Shania, originally from Goa, India. Goa is full of beaches, rich culture, spirituality, and tourism, and it’s where my entrepreneurial journey began. (So, if you hear me say I’m heading to Bali several times a year, it’s because I miss home, and Bali is just a stone’s throw away from Perth!)
I grew up in a family of business owners. My dad currently runs three successful ventures: a waterpark, a wedding venue, and an entertainment business (fun, hey). He’s been instrumental in shaping my path, exposing me to the thrills and challenges of entrepreneurship from a young age. From stepping into his businesses to learning by doing, I gained some great experience.
He taught me that while the journey is rocky, it’s incredibly rewarding—if you want to take on the world, you’ve got to keep hustling and sometimes, risk it for the biscuit.

I’ve always believed in following your passion, living with intention, and finding your Ikigai. With a diverse range of interests, I’ve focused on mastering the small things. Over the years, I’ve also worked in events and music, and gained experience in the industries my dad ventured into—entertainment and recreation.
So what am I doing in the marketing world? It’s always been the bigger picture—another love. I’m fascinated by customer psychology: What drives people? How do you create something different? What impact can you make? How to use design to influence? To dive deeper into these questions, I started taking up small projects, which solidified my passion for marketing.
Then, over two years ago, I moved solo to Australia for my master’s degree. After working in the recruitment industry in marketing for over a year and learning about the local market, I relaunched Gaia here.
Many brands overlook the need to create a great experience for their customers. It’s not just about social media or having a pretty presence—it’s about optimising touchpoints, leveraging tone, voice, and colours, and being there when customers need you. Foundational structure matters. That’s why Gaia was born.
We love to think of ourselves as purposeful marketers. We reverse-engineer strategies by defining end goals and creating milestones to reach them. Whether it’s a small project or a full strategy, we ensure every effort is intentional. We designed Gaia to help small and medium-sized businesses navigate the complexities of the digital landscape while emphasising the importance of authentic brand storytelling and a strong foundational structure.
I hope this gives you a glimpse into my journey and Gaia’s mission. There might not be much more of me here, but the blog page will be our way of sharing valuable marketing insights you can apply to your business. If you find value in what we do, share it with a friend—it would mean the world to us!
Till then, laters!
Shania
